Back to School Backpack Event:

August 2007, we stuffed 360 backpacks for children in need in our local area.

Kids Walking for Kids Walk-a-Thon:

This 3.5 mile walk designed especially for child participation was a great success. The proceeds from the walk went to North Shore Children's Hospital Child Life Department in Salem, the RAW after-school program in Lynn, and other 'kids helping kids' programs at Someone Else's Child Foundation in Marblehead.

Kids Sponsoring Kids Holiday Event:

Classrooms in community elementary schools "sponsored" children living in foster care. Each child from participating classrooms wrote letters and bought Holiday gifts for the "sponsored" foster care kids fulfilling their holiday wish lists.

Holiday Events:

Kids Helping Kids is a Holiday Event in early December, where we will decorate and stuff Holiday bags and stockings filled with toys, treats and winter clothing items. A total of 250 stockings are donated to local area children in need.

Celtic Christmas Concerts.

Kids Visiting Kids:

High School students visited and instructed children being treated for cancer at a local hospital how to build Native American dreamcatchers. Bringing with them hope and tribal stories to share while constructing the dreamcatchers.

Kids Helping Kids Pen-Pal Program

SEC is working with Marblehead Children's Center on a Kids Helping Kids Pen-Pal Program to benefit children at the Gregg House. This Program involves the children at the Marblehead Children's Center writing letters, drawing pictures, and donating a favorite toy to children being assisted by the Gregg House. We and our child volunteers await a response from the children at DSS.

Toys for Iraq:

Sundance School, a Marblehead-based pre-school, and SEC teamed up to collect toys for Iraqi children who are in extreme need. An SEC child volunteer, Lance Pedulsky, took the initiative to invite his school to participate in the toy collection. Lance was extremely successful collecting hundreds of dollars worth of toys, which were subsequently shipped to our contact in Iraq.
